2008 997.1 PTS Carmon Red TIP Cab. 10k mi car mint cond.
1988 911 Cab 155k complete engine and suspension refresh.
Sold my mint condition 997 for my 3.2 911. Both unique cars and fun to drive. But I sold my aircooled Targa last year and missed it so had to pick this beauty up.

Congrats groov and glad it was mostly as represented.
Enjoy the drive as that's what it's all about.

Took it for a drive early this morning----> I think best way to describe the earlier 911's is to say they are more of a "drivers" car meaning they take a bit more effort to drive and the feel is more like a go cart where you feel the pavement more thru the steering wheel..
The 997 suspension is so nice the driver doesn't really feel the road surface.
Got my signature "Porsche in my driveway" photo when I got home - Also some better photos of the blue plaid seat inserts
Drivers seat back has an old repaired tear that is separating - Fortunately the rear seats have the blue plaid cloth and the seat bottoms have lots of spare material underneath them - At some point I'll cut a section out that matches the pattern and probably neatly glue the piece onto the drivers seat back so it looks a little better

Love the plaid inserts and the sport seats! I had the full leather Recaro sport seats on my 911S and loved them several years back. Most comfortable seats I'd had up to that point; could drive all day in them. Still love those sport seats, but your post has me wondering how "fun" they'd be to climb in and out of every day now.
Interesting that your next one may be a 991. That's going to be a huge difference going from an SC to a big boulevard cruiser... It will just make your ultimate move back to a 997 that much sweeter!

Congrats Groovzilla! Nothing like going back to basics and going analogue! Thanks for the update and insight on how she drives. I know the more you drive it, clean it up and make it yours, the better the connection you will have with it. Great looking car and hope some day to add an air cooled to my stable.
btw... You are not kidding...those sports seats are narrow! But at least those plaid seats go great with your Hair !!

Congrats, if you're happy....... but although I do understand the classic look of the SC and all, I too would cry myself to sleep if I had sold my 997 for it.
I believe the 997 perfectly blends the classic look with modern technology. I added a Pioneer radio that supports apple car play and android auto and am very satisfied that it brought the 997 to present modern technological trend.
Bit if it keeps you busy and brings you satisfaction, that's all that matters.

Like I've said I don't have the room for 2 cars unless I rent a space and that's just not happening - my 2 car garage is from the Victorian era and tight - I've got to build a garage at some point for 3-4 cars.
Also the main reason for my decision is the really nice 911sc's are getting hard to find especially in my favorite silver/black---> And like the 356, they will be continuing to climb in value so I figured I'd get the 911sc now and eventually replace the 997.
Took the car to Aker's Porsche today to get the door mirror fixed and a few other little repairs like adjusting the hood latch(which has been a little hard to latch shut) and replacing some dash lights.
Akers is only 5 blocks from my house, they are friends for 34 years and I like hanging out there once and a while and shoot the shizz.

The other thing to keep in mind is I do have some sort of Porsche sickness.
Example: Yesterday my mother-in-law at 86 yrs old had her knee replaced - Swedish Hospital is 2 blocks from Aker's Porsche.
Instead of visiting, I dropped my wife off and headed to Aker's. Even my wife understood my deep belief that Porsche's come before family.
Some of my old cars including my 997C4S that I miss (got to keep the 997 content going)

If you want my building has a couple secure, heated parking spots for rent. Think they are under $200 a month. I would just say it’s for me. Garage door could get you in.

Oh the first one..... excuse my ignorance, a 356 is it?!?
But I don't know why, but that red one... maybe I'm biased.... drove one in the late 80'S

Just kidding, that's a really nice offer to help solve the problem of limited space, but don't know how close together you guys are. Always seemed odd to me to take a car to where you have another car so you can drive said car, unless of course it's one of those race track paddock setups.
