Rubber flap in front of rear tire....
Do you guys fix/repair or remove these? I see a lot of posts about these mysteriously coming off...
what at is the best way to install so that they stay in place?

Three Wheelin'
Normally, those rubber tabs help keep it secure until something dislodges it like those blocks of wood. You should be able to push them back into place.

Mine is like the OP currently on one side, but the bottom front portion of rear wheel plastic liner behind it is cracked next to the screw in the picture, probably from my huge driveway curb despite going in at 45 degree angle. Or perhaps the tire place did it, can't be sure.

How do you replace these? The ones on my 997.1 C2S Cab look different from the ones in the pic shown in this thread, as mine have rubber that extend on the side too.

Honestly, I would put a dab of glue up there... start with silicone... them move to something more aggressive. I am assuming the flap is in good shape else I would just replace it. Replacing may not get you what you want... it depends where the wear is. If the slot is worn or deformed, the new part may pop out also.

14 years and 75K miles in hot climate that tends to destroy plastic and rubber trim, mine are still in place. As long as it wasn't broken I'd clean the dirt off everything and glue it back with weatherstrip cement.

Mine’s ripped up and I want to replace it. Anyone know how?

This is probably the most ridiculous piece to replace, and not only that, but to also source the part (if you have a 4S - it's called the rocker panel end cap).
I initially tried to push it in, but resorted to taking it to my usual mechanic, who then took off the wheel, unscrewed both the rocker panel, and unclipped the fender liner to reach the clipping mechanism for the end cap, and then spent the next 30 minutes greasing and pulling it through the tabs.

Well, I ordered the parts from Suncoast just now, so I’ll let you know how it goes. Lol. Mines not a C4, so maybe it’s easier.

I did this on my 2007 Turbo. Have to take off rear wheel and remove inner fenders to get full access. Once you have access, it’s pretty easy. I think these make a big difference aesthetically, so when mine was worn I wanted to replace it. Also, good reason to clean out all the rocks and dirt that is hidden in there.
