2007 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet for $36K w/100K miles a good deal?
Never owned a Porsche but very interested in pulling the trigger so I could use some guidance. Looking to buy a 997 and having trouble determining whether 100K in miles is too much. There's a 2007 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet for ~!$36K but it has 100,000 miles. The car fax is all clean and is on it's 2nd owner. I did some reading about asking for a DME scan so I can do that.

Thanks guys. From the other cars I've looked at this seems to have plenty of options.

Seems a bit high but depends on the maintenance/service. If everything is done up and the car is in prime shape, 36k is reasonable. Otherwise start subtracting based on what it needs. You know what they say about cheap Porsches....

IMO, that’s not really a good deal at 100k miles. I got my 07S Cab with same color combo with 27k miles for $43k from a Mercedes dealership.

Thanks guys for the comments. Since I'm buying this as a toy I'm being fairly particular on options. Want a 997 S, Cab with Midnight blue, Tan interior. Sport package and high end sound.

Was comparing it against this 2006 2006 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet for $52,900: https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...6412/overview/
The main differences I see aside from 2006 vs. 2007 are the miles and price. 11K miles on the 2006 for $52K vs. 100K miles on the 2007 for $36K

The car does present very well and it has a ton of options. I like the painted center console. You have some room to haggle. Low 30s is a good number.

Found this one that seems to hit the mark big time: http://www.thecarbar.com/inventory/2...gression-specs
2007 4S with 21K miles on it for $43K.
The one thing I've been looking for in my search is the Sport button I believe adjusts suspension among other performance related features. Is this a show stopper (Unfortunately, this website doesn't show good interior pictures)

My theory whether buying Porsche or Mercedes is to find something in the 65-75K mile range where these expensive services and replacements have been completed because most likely you will have 30-40K miles of fun with little servicing required other than routine oil changes/etc.
I seem to have a fairly good handle on buying these cars since I've been doing it for 35 years and it has worked well for me.
Don't forget, no matter what you decide to buy get a PPI(pre-purchase inspection) Performed and a good indy shop not associated with the car you want to buy.
