Formal Introduction - My New 997
After several months of passively looking, and a couple months of diligently searching, I found my 997. It's an '07 Carrera S in Meteor Grey, black full leather interior, sport chrono, and a manual transmission.
I bought it at Dallas Motorsports in Wylie, TX. I was a little apprehensive about buying a car out-of-state, but after having a PPI done at Mayo Performance (who were awesome to work with!) and everyone's feedback here, I pulled the trigger a couple of weeks ago. It was a one-owner car in Las Vegas with a clean Carfax and from what I can tell (I don't have all of the service records, but I do have some) well maintained. I drove it back from Dallas to Denver on Saturday and had a blast doing it.
Road trip in full effect
Hit 50k a couple hours into my drive
Bug guts and all
Tucked into her new home
On a side note, the previous owner's mix CD wouldn't eject from the PCM (no disk changer). I had brought a few old CD's I had laying around in preparation for the 12-hour drive home, but ended up having to listen to his mix CD about 10 times in a row. LOL. I did throw in a couple P-Car Talk podcasts in my earbuds to mix things up a bit.
I'll do the first oil change this Friday afternoon or Saturday morning, then hopefully get some drives in this weekend.
Last but not least, I owe a special thanks to @zdet , @JoshGordon , @raidersfan , @TYPE911 , and @quiverkiller for their advice and guidance, and everyone else here who has way more knowledge and expertise on these cars than I do. Thank you!

You USED THE CUPHOLDERS 😱
And eating in the car
It's now a total loss
Jokes aside - Welcome to a great forum. You will learn a lot here and find good and informative post to enjoy your 997 ownership.
I like that darker grey color and the lobsters as well. The lobsters look better and better as the 997 ages IMO.

Awesome.. Congrats! But seriously, never use the cupholders. Also get a kit from blackstone and a magnetic drain plug before you change the oil.

I bought a Seal Gray Metallic 06 C2S from Dallas Motorsports in December of 2017. It also had black full leather interior, sport chrono, and manual transmission. And a CD stuck in the PCM.
Nice car, welcome

Greg,
Congratulations, the 911 looks great ! Glad the trip home was smooth and worry free.
I have the same issue with a cd in my car, and the changer wont play either. You are brave to use the cupholders, I do like your beverage choice though...
Enjoy the car and don't read too many BS threads here (pun intended)
Cheers,
Chris

Thanks, everyone. I was looking for silver, black, and everything in between (Seal Grey, Atlas, etc.) but am glad I found the Meteor Grey. It's actually real close in color to my DD (Toyota 4Runner) that is "Galactic" Grey Mica, and also happens to be an '07. I'm seeing a theme develop....
Yeah, the lobsters (not sure if it's "Claw" or "Fork", as I've heard both) have grown on me quite a bit. I agree @Racetwin2 , the lobsters have become somewhat symbolic of the 997.1. I don't envision myself changing them out for anything else.
I didn't realize that CD's getting stuck in the PCM was a systemic problem until I started looking into how to eject it. No worries though. That will be my motivation for a Bluetooth mod sooner than later. Plus, that CD (and the songs on it) will always remind me of my solo road trip with my new 911.
@Monster231 , already done. My package from LN Engineering showed up yesterday. I bought 2 magnetic drain plugs (I heard they can also be used for the tranny, which I will get to in the next couple of weeks), the spin on oil adapter, and one of their used oil analysis kits. I think Blackstone is a little less expensive for their used oil analysis kits, but since I was placing the order with LN anyway, I figured I would give it a go with their kit. I know there is some debate here around the spin on oil adapter and if it improves filtration, the bypass valve, etc., but really I bought it for convenience and to make future oil changes that much easier and less messy.
Funny thing about the cup holders, is that can of Red Bull is about all it is good for. If I wasn't in the car as long as I was, I wouldn't have used them. Plus, I had to try them out at least once. Other than a couple of Red Bulls, it worked well for holding my sunflower seed spitter cup. At least the new 992 has a legit cupholder in the center console so your drink isn't bounced around precariously over the PCM and HVAC controls! That was probably the first and last time I use the cup holders in this car.

Nice car, great story. Always good to have more DIY people on the forum.
And they are lobster forks.
