WTB Instrument cluster, non working ok

Hi all, I am looking for an instrument cluster for my 997.1 It does not need to be functioning since the only piece I am after is the outter shell with glass pieces covering the dials.

Thanks in advance!

I still have it, and yes it's from a manual trans 997 car. I don't understand the ABS question though. Think all Porsches since the late 80s or early 90s had ABS

Pete, you have enough parts to build another 997? ;)

LOL

I know and I don't need a bunch of them so you all need to pick a few up
  • Standard black leather steering wheel
  • Gauge cluster
  • The Champion Wheels
  • A windshield cowl (haven't even advertised that one yet
  • Black leather shift boot
  • Conical seat Ti lug bolts for. Spacers
  • Pair of 35mm spacers
  • A slew.of Cayenne parts
  • Some 928 parts
  • Etc
  • Etc
I may need to build a website :)

DOH! I meant TPMS! It's been a hell of a day!

That's actually a good question and one I don't know the answer to, as I don't know what year car it came out of and I've never powered it up. I purchased it as a spare to be able to use the car while I sent my original over to RUF in Germany for their gauge upgrade, but eventually decided it was too expensive, so never pulled mine and installed this one.

I will guarantee that it works properly and also for your application, though you may have to have a dealer program it to work in your car and I don't know how the mileage in the odometer is handled - whether it's stored in the DME and just communicates that to the cluster or if it's stored in the cluster where the dealer either has to reset it to your current mileage or has to give you a certificate to explain the different in mileage displayed. If it's from an 05 and doesn't have TPMS, you can send it back for the return shipping cost and I'll refund your payment.

Just a little expereince, I bought (or I should say Fidelity warranty bought) a new cluster for my 997TT. I had been contemplating upgrading to a set of red-dials, and figured this would be a good time to do so.

The Porsche dealer where I had the work done ordered the red-dialed version of the cluster for my 07. Note that the red dial version was only avail from the factory starting in 08 or 09. So when I was done I had a 08/09 cluster in my 07.

My OBC (menu using the stalk) had a few new options (I cant remember what they are now) when scrolling thru the menu, and whenever I "selected" them the OBC would freeze-up.. no more input would be allowed until I stopped and restarted the car.. I took the car back to the dealer and had them look at it..

After futzing with it for a day, they concluded that the 08/09 cluster had some extra features that weren't avail in 07, and that there was no was to "turn off" those features from showing up on the OBC. If I wanted the red-dial cluster this was a trade-off.

Also, the dealer had to "marry" the car to the ECU with PIWIS in order for the mileage to "carry over".. No certificate is required.

SO this tells me that there are a lot of features built into the cluster itself, Not sure if the TPMS is one of those.
