That's already at strong money for that car. Very basic spec, too.

ETA: $44,000 before fees. That's a high-water mark for a 997.1S considering miles and spec. Only significantly lower mile cars have gone for more.

Does BAT typically fetch like 15-20% less than a typical private party or dealer would sell for? I ask because looking at the auction results, I see that much variance off of what is listed on Autotrader and Cars.com. For example, most 997.2 C2S 6MT coupes with under 60k list for $50k (rarely) to mid-high $50k (more commonly). $59k for a good example with around 40k miles seems typical, and a good number of these have some form of damage listed on the carfax. On BAT it seems they go for low $40's to mid-high $40's.

Are the Autotrader/Cars.com people just thinking wishfully or is something else going on?

997.2 C2S MT coupes have been pretty rare on BAT. One went last week for $43,675 before fees but it had 83k miles. One went for ~$48k after fees with 53k miles (that was a good deal). All the other ones I see went for well over $50k.

For under 60k miles this is what I see (remember to add 5% buyers fee):

9/11/2019; 53k: $46,250
2/15/2019; 26k: $52,500 (didn't meet reserve)
12/24/2018; 38k: $56,500
8/1/2018; 25k: $53,500
4/11/2018; 48k: $54,000
3/1/2016; 5,500: $52,500 (didn't meet reserve)

So, really, only four 997.2 C2S MT coupes (w/ <60k miles) have sold on BAT. The average cost to the buyer after fees of those four cars has bee $55,200.

BAT usually puts "6-speed" in the title of the auction is it's a MT. I add that to my search term. I filter for 2009-2012 and exclude 'cabriolet'. If they listed some MT cars without "6-speed" in the title then my search would miss them.
