We all get wrapped up in our daily activities and busy with all sorts or business/family events/etc and life just keeps moving forward.
I received some bad news from my dearest closest friend (who lives in San Diego) about 9 months ago that he has Multiple Myeloma (Bone Cancer) and prognosis is not good. Treatment may help prolong life anywhere from 2-5 years.
My friend started treatment when he got the news, had gotten stronger and his numbers looked good but unfortunately his symptoms have gotten worse and it's really bumming me out.
We had plans to spend more time together once we got closer to fully retiring and me/wife were even thinking of buying a retirement home in San Diego soon.
We text/talk every week and he wanted me to wait to see him until he was able to walk on his own. He's like my brother and I wanted to respect his wishes so I held back and have been waiting until early October to head to San Diego or he would come to Seattle.
I received a call from his wife that he has other complications and is back in the ICU. He has to have surgery in about 4 weeks and good chance he won't survive the surgery or even make it long enough for the surgery.
I'm in the middle of making flight plans to head down there next week.
Lets all be thankful we are for the most part healthy and enjoy our families.
This is a reminder that we never know what the next day brings and we are lucky to have nice cars/lifestyle and especially our health.
Good health and happiness to everyone.

Congrats Big Swole! The gap at the top widens.
I'm amazed that a FL cab with that mileage, light options, and not a lot of history went that high. Obviously the market is not softening that much yet.

I actually think the no reserve had an impact there. Smart move by the seller. It probably attracted more attention than if he’d set a reserve.

[QUOTE=groovzilla;18335827]Fellow players---> OT Message:
Yes indeed. Some may have awesome Porsche collections and boatloads of money, but what good are they when you don't have your health. I visited a friend today who has a small car collection who I've known since college. He's had a number of strokes, is relegated to a wheel chair, but his mind is still reasonably sharp. I brought him and his wife lunch today and we had a great discussion on cars, history and of coarse health. It's tough getting to an age when you start losing friends. Ignore the fake news, stay healthy, and don't take your friends for granted.
And congrats Big Swole!
