I wonder how long it will take for the bore scope to become like IMS is today. The IMS thing is a total red herring but it takes attention away from Bore Scoring as an issue. Most everyone who buys these cars can afford to put up the $3k to $6k (depending where you reside) cost of fixing the IMS and replacing the clutch. Another $20k on a rebuild is just in a totally different category of expenditure. I also wonder what percentage of the cars going to auction actually have bore scoring. If your recent experience groov is any indication (I know, small sample size) the number is higher than anyone wants to admit.
