Well, morally I feel as the winner (#1) as both JV and Big Swole put their bids in after Groove cut the bidding off (and I put my bid in as close as possible to the assumed cut-off time), but, it it is what it is

My $.02.

The end guessing (lets not use Bidding as that is for actually buying the car which we are not) time for all games is 2 days or exactly 48 hours prior to the end of the auction. Yes once we have seen BaT recently change the end time on auction day by several hours due to server issues, however, that is far past our 2 days out guessing deadline.

The game winner who picks the next auction is responsible for putting in the guess deadline and the auction end time, however, we have seen that be messed up before. And usually corrected by someone along the way. If you are unsure, you should double check the actual BaT listing. If the listing has not reached 1 day 23 hours 59 minutes and 59 seconds and counting down, your guess is still valid, regardless of typos on the game thread which should be corrected.

That's my view. Also, you should check your settings in RL as someone a week or so did guess after the deadline, not realizing their settings had changed and that their post was off by 1 hour on their forum view because of daylight savings detection.

I am not the gamemaster, President Snow is not feeding me poison berries, but that's my $.02.

I offered to have us excluded. However, BAT sets the Actual auction close time and 48 hours back from that is where I guessed. Actually almost an hour prior. That led to JVin realizing it too and under guessed me know how badly that auction was going... Game played...I lost... Extended by BAT or a mistake somewhere along the way, like you said, it is what it is.

Forgive me for not being more ontop of this latest situation/drama. I have pain meds inside me from foot surgery and not banging on all cylinders and got confused from Big Swole's post regarding Auction end time being extended.
I have no idea why BS came up with the theory the Auction time was extended because it ended June 15th at 1:00PM EST which was always the case.

**If everyone interested would please look at post #8659 where I applaud Kindheitstraum for his last minute 12:59pm guess. This should have been the last guess on the Auction and guessing closed at 1:00pm EST
I'm not sure where Big Swole's confusion came in however any guesses after Kindheitstraum's 12:59 Guess should not have been counted because they were past the Guess cutoff.
Soooo, what to do?

**Lets keep the current Auction car rolling and continue guessing on it.

lol Groov, I love ya brother but I guess those pain meds have done a trick on ya.

Several post ago you were good with it, even after I recommenced either letting Linder in or removing JVin and I.

Now it changed back.


There is no "confusion" on my part. I came to this particular auction very late and according to BAT (which I took live screen shots of and posted), the ending time was 4pm EST, so I posted about it and made my guess almost an hour early.

Seems to be BAT's fault for doing this new time changing crap and those like me that came in late and saw that INSTEAD of the actual posted ending time made the guess.

It's a debate of the rule now which I'm in favor of being What Ever BAT has posted, goes....Even if it changes.. That count down on BAT's site should be the end all be all of when EXACTLY 48 hours until the official "End" of the auction.

Groov, I think you made the right call. Whatever published time is posted on here should be the time that stands regardless of whether or not BAT extends the time. We all know what time zone we're in. And go easy on those pain meds/shrooms.
