I see, $73K is the winning number then. I wonder if the seller hadn't made his "reserve is another $25K" comment, what would the final number be. Higher than $73K or lower?

First off. Way to go @linderpat !! Nice win!!!

I expected it to go higher. While I don't care for silver all that much and really hate black wheels, a lot do like it. I realize it was a PDK but a 4S .2 with that low mileage, and in colors that people usually go for, I thought $78-90 was the range for sure. The fact it didn't hit that I think could have been due to the seller being such a jerk.

Let's keep it simple. The gavel price in the auction is what we go with. Seller can say whatever they want about anything but there will always be a high bid on BaT regardless of whether it results in a sale or not. The high bid is what we are guessing. that's it.

This game guesses the final bid, whether reserve is met or not. Whether it is sold or bid to. Any additional funds that BaT kicks in to close the deal is inconsequential. Doesn't factor in for us. We also don't add in the 5% or $5k that the buyer pays to BaT on top of the bid price. Our guess list is bid amount. A car that sells for $80k costs the buyer $84k as they also pay BaT $4k for the auction. We don't make that payment part of the auction. What happened here is that the bid was $73k. BaT would stand to make $3,650. The gave the seller $2k of that to close the deal and only kept $1,650 of their fee.
