I'm more of a coupe than a cabrio guy but wow this is one nice spec. C4S, 6MT, X51, SC, even PTS with a nicely coordinated interior color. $130k+ in 2007!
This is a nice clean car, black exterior just doesn't make the rear hips more pronounce as the lighter color cars. I personally prefer a 6sp manual over a PDK, the low mileage will bring top dollars for this car. I'm in for $50,997.
I've never used this site except when I thought about selling my current car about a month ago. Said goodby to them when they asked for 60 pictures or somewhere in that range. What I don't understand is why offer $50,997 when there are already two offers higher than yours? Obviously there's something different about the auction specifics here than the traditional highest bidder wins. Can someone explain please?

It was just a guess and just a silly fun game we are playing. The closest price to the winning or highest bid wins this game. BAT was meant for higher end cars so they have their own restrictions. I would definitely use them to sell my cars because there are some high rollers willing to pay top dollars if the car checks all their boxes. $100 is worth it to me. Just be prepared to have a lot of photos including underneath the car, any service records and a video of cold start up or driving the car. Oh and also be prepared to answer any questions bidders might ask.

Thanks Vincent. It wasn't just your bid that triggered my question. This whole thread and other BAT threads are littered with new bids that are lower than existing bids. Never saw this before on auction type sites. I don't care about their fees. As I said yesterday in a separate thread, their photo obsession just seems a bit odd to me. As you said, it's mostly for high end cars so no matter how many pictures or how few, the potential buyer will have a thorough PPI done anyway so what's the point with 60 or more pictures including pics from underneath the car? Nobody will buy any of their cars without a PPI so as I said in the other thread, 10-15 pictures to get a general idea of what we're dealing with here plus a phone number to the seller would be worth a whole lot more to me than an endless photo album.

I wasn't aware of other BAT threads on here besides this one. I really don't browse too much on this forum but only read the ones I am currently subscribed to. I think most bidders on BAT depends solely on detailed photos, documents, videos and questions without a PPI. Most sellers are willing to show you or have a PPI done within that 7 day auction period. Once you win the bid, you are obligated to pay the amount and there are no PPI agreement done after the auction is over. This was what I was told. Now you can see why BAT requires a lot of photos, video etc.
I purchased a 1990 e30 Convertible BMW in 2017 from BAT. The seller and I went back and forth and he answered all my questions during the bidding process. The car was very well documented with at least one hundred pictures. As I am very familiar with the e30 platform I was fairly confident in what I was going to win. However, there will always be questions when you can’t get a ppi.
BaT is a unique auction environment in that everyone (even random bozos like me) can see all the bids, all the comments, and view commenters' bid/sale/history. In this current auction, some commenter chimed in that he had a PPI done on this car and found serious issues. I'm sure that pisses off the seller to no end since that could suppress bidding and you'd never get the same on ebay or Barrett-Jackson, etc. It's a double edged sword though since commenters sometimes point out stuff that INCREASES the value of a car, if the seller didn't know how special or rare it is.
