How to BaT:
1) Have a nice car to sell and know what buyers are gonna ask about with that type of car
2) Clean the car as much as is possible
3) Take a zillion photos with a good camera and good lighting including lots of underbody shots with it up on a lift or rack
4) Be available the whole week of the auction, accommodating requests to see/drive the car up til the end of the auction
5) Read and reply to every comment and post new stuff like DME reports (which you really should have done beforehand)
The above auction could have fetched probably $5k more (?) just by doing those steps. If I ever sell a car on BaT, I intend to do it right. The "BaT tax" isn't something you get just for merely showing up.
I disagree----> That car has 99K miles, will need clutch and probably flywheel most likely brakes and it has no good options like sport seats or PSE and its just a run of the mill 2005 997 non-S coupe
$24,000 is probably a decent sell price considering $5K will need to be spent soon on above work and it will hit 100K miles tomorrow
You've got to figure a non-S coupe at 100K miles is $30K max these days

**Oh I forgot, got to add the Bore Scored engine rebuild at $18K

I agree. There was an 18-way sport-seat equipped C2S for sale locally for $37k. It had 34000 miles and was very clean.

The BAT car is $25,600 inc. auction premium. Personally, I would rather pay $11,400 more and get a car with 1/3 the miles, nicer spec, and oh yeah, an S! There is no reason to cheap out on a high-mile base when the difference just isn't all that much money. $25 grand for a base C2 with 100,000 miles seems like a ridiculous price. I could probably find a low-mile base for $32-33k, if I can find a low-mile C2S for $37k. It does tell us that mileage doesn't really hurt these cars' value over a certain depreciated amount.

Market has really softened up on the 991 GT cars. Tons out there for sale. Still went pretty low IMO.

Theres a 2006 997S for sale here in Seattle w/63K miles for $32K----> Silver/black and very well preserved
Doesn't have many options except for new Fuchs wheels which I believe are expensive---> I think they look out of place on 997 but sell them and buy my favorite Lobster Forks for $800
