BAT Auction Thread

BaT is rather particular about what they accept. I tried to sell a very nice, tastefully modified 06 Mustang GT there last year (special color combination and so forth), but they did not accept it. I can see whay they would not want a Panamera - still just a used 4 door luxo sedan, and would not generate much buzz.

$33,000,
Not sure if anyone can get in on this but I would like to join in? Feel free to remove my guess if not allowed.
Not that familiar with BAT auctions but if this goes as low as what most of these guesses are I am going to have to register. I was looking for a car like this one when I bought my 996. I have not seen a 997 manual coupe go for less than $30k in the 3 years that I was in the market.

Oh geez, $23k!! No way it goes that low! Hell I would pay $23K just to turn it into a race car. I personally have not seen a non-salvage title 997.1 C2S go for less than $29k regardless of miles or condition.
Now I completely agree the seller might be the biggest jackass on the planet for the radio move. That extra $400 will cost him $1k.

Fortunately he reconsidered on the radio. I think my comments might have caused him to reconsider . But really was he going to swap the radio if the buyer wanted the OEM??

Thank you. My daily is a 996 Cabriolet tip but I really wanted a 997 Coupe 6 speed. I bought the 996 to drive until I found want I really wanted. This one is actually pretty close to what I want. Will have to see if it is worth bidding on.

Hey guys, so I am local to the area of the 95K mile black/black 997.1 that's for auction on BaT and I had the opportunity to test drive it yesterday (thanks again to the owner if he happens to be reading this). The owner was not able to be there at the test drive but his buddy who said he was a mechanic was there with me. I don't have a ton of experience driving 997s but this was the second one I had driven. Things I noticed were that the overall paint condition was okay... probably about what you'd expect for a car with that kind of milage. Definitely some areas where there was some marring and one spot that I found a blemish which appeared to be through the clear coat. Interior condition was, again, milage-appropriate and the circle on the dash from the suction cup was not as noticeable in person as it is in the photo.
The biggest reasons I have decided to move away from this car are the suspension and the CEL it threw during the test drive. Suspension-wise, I found that it was a bit more crashy (especially in the rear) than a lower milage 997 I drove (also a C2S btw). We scanned the car with an OBD reader and the CEL was a generic cylinder misfire code (the guy who was with me said he suspected it was because the car has not been started in some time). I also noticed that the car was very slow to turn over when starting (even after the test drive and the car had been warmed up).
I'm no mechanic and not an expert in these cars so all this is simply my observation as a layperson. Let me know if you have any more questions.

I've owned several 996's with over 100K miles and all looked and drove excellent. No exception for the 997.
Sounds like this car wasn't cared for very well - Service records, PPI and visual always tell the tale.

I may eat my words but I can't see this car going for less than $31K - Maybe a base 997 but not an "S"
Just don't see a decent S for sub $30K
