Default DME Report Help

Hello gentlemen,
Can anyone help me interpret this DME report with a quick glance and tell me if there's any alarming over rev range? I'm interested in this car and have no idea how to read it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That's a fine report, 4-6 are glitches and 1-3 are very low numbers.

Fantastic! Thank you so much for your feedback and help. It's a 2008 997 with only 20k miles on an auction I'm bidding. This helps me out a lot, thanks again!

The owner also sent the PPI report, looks ok except the coolant leak, 10% brake pad life left and front shocks needed? Can you guys see if I'm missing anything major?

DME report is good. Average speed (total miles / operating hours) is in the right range so nothing weird going on with the DME there.

Where is the coolant leak from - water pump?

What's wrong with the instrument cluster or gauges as noted in the PPI?

I dont see that.. do you mean in the notes section? Pretty benign PPI, honestly..

The range 3 to 6 overrevs happened a long time ago, probably when the car had 2k miles so I wouldn't be worried.

Looks good. If you are dealing with an auction you might not have any other choice with the PPI but under normal circumstances I would have one done independently.

Thanks everyone for the feedback and advice. The car had only 20K miles with nice options and 6sp manual. Owner said he address the coolant leak that was found on one of the clamp being loose. TPMS was replaced and I have no info on the instrument cluster.
The car was sold a few hundred dollars over my bid at the very last minute for $37k. Bummer! After reading all good reports from you guys I felt like a really good car got away from me. It's going to be awhile until I find another car like this. Black isn't my favorite color anyways, the search continues. Thanks again everyone.

That DME report looks like a "virgin" compared to mine which looks more like a wild bachelor party hangover night in bangkok!

seriously... like everyone is saying... no worries in that DME report!

Hi gang,
Got another favor to ask, I found another car 2007 C4 with 6sp manual. The owner only has carfax report with no other service history records. The carfax doesn't look that great to me being that the only real service it had was at a Mercedes dealer, is this bad? I have included the carfax, any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Not all servicing dealers or shops are part of Carfax so I would not worry too much if you have normal documentation. I'd really inspect the accident damage though, make sure it was properly fixed and not full of body filler.

Carfax is hit and miss. My 60,000 mile service which included the required PDK service and cost me close to $2,000 as I recall it doesn't show up more than 6 months after it was done so will almost certainly never show up. At least I have the receipts. A certified auto appraiser I've spoken to tells me that with few exceptions, Carfax posts any "events" within one month. If it goes much past that it most likely will never be part of the car's Carfax history.

My 60,000 mile major service including the PDK service was done by Suncoast Porsche in Sarasota and as I said above doesn't show up on Carfax. Other much smaller services done by the same dealer such as new tires mounted do show up though so I don't know what to make of it.
