Default Help to choose wheels please

Hi, I´m looking to buy some new wheels for my 997.1TT instead of the OEM turbo-wheels. Can I find a nice set of wheels for around 2500-3000$ ?
The wheels I find nice is often to expensive, of course I REALLY like the GT3RS-style and want something in that style.

Here are som nice wheels , BUT, they´re to expensive Can you give me some tips on similar, cheaper, wheels

for your price range I'd look at the Vendors in Marketplace, good discounted wheels. But personally, OZ racing wheels are priced in the 1-2.5k range and are built to last and the weight is low.

(Just bought a set of OZ leggeras for my 997 S, 1750.00 w/ tire from a forum member)

another +1 for OZ. For the price range mentioned the OZ wheels will most likely be cast, but are still quality wheels and lightweight. In the price range mentioned I'd be checking out the wheel weights carefully. Wheel price and wheel weight are often inverse in nature. Cheaper wheels tend to have more weight and less quality. But of course there are exceptions. But I know a lot of folks just want a nice look and dont care about performance (kinda daffy to do on a 100k sports car, but sure).

If you up the spend a bit there are forged OZ wheels that are super light, or if you are willing to look at a used set. There are a lot of options out there but most of the good options are north of $1-2k (almost all the good options)

The OZ Leggeras are cool ! I have them on my list of options 😀 Think I can find them here in Sweden för about 2700$ ...I made a small calculation-error, my budget is 2500-3000$ now when I checked the exchange a bit better

+1 for OZ here. i'm going with 19" Leggera HLTs for my base Carrera. theyre 2lb lighter each than the stock 18" wheels mine come with, should be at least 5-6Lb lighter than the stock Turbo wheels. I've never heard a single complaint about OZ from anyone who has them either!
this image link was taken from a thread somewhere here on RL. I love the look!

Wheel weights from another post somewhere on rennlist. I love factory GT3 look too, but holy cow they're heavy. compare this to 19x8.5" Leggera HLT at 20lb and 19x11" at 23 = 86lb total

8.5x19" 24 lbs. 5 oz.
12x19" 30 lbs. 13 oz.

Porsche Factory Carrera S - 100 lbs, 0 oz.
8x19" 22 lbs. 4 oz.
11x19" 27 lbs. 12 oz.

Porsche Factory Carrera Classic - 104 lbs, 10 oz.
8x19" 23 lbs. 10 oz.
11x19" 28 lbs. 11 oz.

Porsche Factory Carrera Sport Design - 104 lbs, 12 oz.
8x19" 24 lbs. 3 oz.
11x19" 28 lbs. 3 oz.

Porsche Factory Carrera Sport - 106 lbs, 12 oz.
8.5x19" 24 lbs. 2 oz.
11.5x19" 29 lbs. 4 oz.

8x19 (987, 997 non turbo front) 23.4 pounds
8.5x19 (997 turbo front) 23.9 pounds
9.5x19 (987 rear) 25 pounds
11x19 (997 turbo rear) 28.8 pounds

OEM Turbo Wheels are nice if you re-profile and polish them.

If I go with OZ Leggera 19" wich width on rear wheels would you go with, 11 or 12"? And wich ET?

if I buy 20" wheels do people most often use same height on tires? 235/35×20 front and 305/30×20, even if they become a bit bigger?

I think the first thing you need to decide is what's more important. Price or quality which begins with cast or forged. You can get what looks like pretty nice cast wheels from China for $300 per wheel. I wouldn't put those on a daily driver beater, never mind a 997TT. For the car you have I wouldn't consider anything but a set of forged wheels by one of the best known brands like HRE, Forgeline, BBS or Champion. There are others but these are the ones I'm familiar with and have had on my cars. They're not cheap. Look for $5K to $6K for a set of four but the quality matches the quality of your car which I don't think can be said for the much cheaper cast wheel options. Just one guy's opinion though so do your own DD.

The ultraleggera even with the 12j rears are not as concave as the same spec leggera. Also the leggeras are even lighter. IMO the oz cast wheels are fantastic value for money considering their weight and quality.
