Default Clutch symptoms

Hey guys, '09 C4S, 68K KM's on the odo. Wondering if the clutch is starting to go on it. Pulls great from stand still, but once on highway at 120KPH if I put my foot down in 6th gear as revs go from 3000-3500rpm, it feels like the clutch is slipping - engine revs up but car doesn't accelerate at same pace. If I apply the throttle more slowly, car accelerates fine. I don't notice any clutch slippage off the start from 1st, only at speed in 5th/6th gear. Clutch pedal feels okay to me midway is engagement point. Does this all sound like the clutch is starting to go?

It sounds that way to me. I've experienced that symptom on clutches in the higher gearing before they've gone and 1st, 2nd and 3rd would seem OK initially.

Thanks guys. I assumed as much but wanted to doublecheck as other cars I’ve had that needed a clutch started to slip on lower gears first when starting off.

2009 C2S 129K miles MT

When my clutch went, it did not do that (although it certainly sounds like your clutch is going)...

Read up on my failure: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...went-cost.html

Gary, I think you've answered your own question. I have the same problem. I would shift into 6 gear and go to pass someone, the tach would increase but NO increase in power at all. Similar situation even in 5 gear. When I had the clutch serviced, the mechanic showed me the clutch plate. It was worn down to the rivets. Now when a new clutch installed, I have lots of power in high gears, in fact, I find that I don't need to downshift to pass people.

How is the clutch pedal? Is it hard or soft to depress?

Exact thing happened to my car at 53K miles. Had clutch and flywheel done. Flywheel was really optional, Slightly scored, or whatever they said. Also did rear main seal for another twenty bucks.

you may be right but I bought this with 51K miles on it, so I hesitate to take the blame. Dont know hoe to heal/toe but pretty good at rev matching duting regular driving and downshifting.

Thanks,
For my 2010, I paid $1900 in NJ at a well known independent. I paid $118/hr at 10 hrs charged out. I added the flywheel and rms because with the clutch out already it only added 1/2 hr labor. I paid about $1200 to add those two items.
Clutch - $704
Labor - $1188
Flywheel - $1107
RMS - $ 27
Labor ( for flywheel and rms) - $ 118

Yeah mine was bought a year ago so I have no idea what the previous owner was like on the clutch. I've had other cars go 120+KMs without needing a clutch and pride myself on technique. I'm looking forward to replacing the clutch (not the $$ spent!) but it will be nice to have the clutch fresh for me.

I think you're right! - I have answered my own question Your symptoms sound identical to mine and that makes me feel good to know that when I replace it, passing power is much stronger. I have to baby it right now on the highway. I'd say the pedal is light for a porsche but not overly light.

07 C2S 35K miles. Clutch is slipping in high gears. Also, I feel a vibration in the pedal as I am letting it out. Parts are on order. I will be doing the job myself shortly. From readings on here and due to low mileage, (also, I am easy and clutches), I fully expect to find a damaged pressure plate. I’ll let you know.

i don’t have any pedal vibration issues in mine. What do you think that is from? Release bearing? Are you gonna replace the flywheel as well?
