Seriously.... if your 997 was totalled... what would you do?
2009 C2S 129K miles MT - Can someone set up a poll?
Seriously now..... free yourself from your tribe.... Some bonehead smashes your 997.... it is landfill. Now what? What will you replace it with? Be real here. Do you really want such as older car?
People look back and love the Ford Thunderbird with the porthole window..... but the biggest seller was the most awful.
Peace

- Another brand?
- A Porsche, but not a 911 - a Boxster? Caymen?
- A Porsche, but not a 911 - Panamera, SUV
- Another 911 - 993 or older
- Another 911 - 996
- Another 911 - 997.1
- Another 911 - 997.2
- Another 911 - 991.1
- Another 911 - 991.2
- Another 911 - 992 (new)

I’d be done with Porsche. Lotus Evora or maybe an Alfa 4C (but no manual?), possibly the new Vantage once they put a manual transmission in it. Or maybe a next gen VW Golf R and a new $15K racing bicycle since I put more miles on my bikes than I drive

If the 997 was totaled, would end up replacing it with another 996 or two.

I'd have to buck up and pay the cost to get another 997.2 GTS like I have currently. Depending on the ability to get one in a proper spec I might have to open up my search to include 991.1 GT3.

I’m not really liking the 992 for the multitude of reasons that have been discussed on Rennlist. I’d probably look for a 997 GTS or cayman. Maybe a 991.2, the torque intrigues me with that one.

Probably another 09 Turbo, but I'd be more picky about options/color. I could also see myself going for a 930 or 964 Turbo instead.

997.2 4S, GT3/RS (997.1 or .2), or a 993 Turbo when they drop below $100K
No interest in 991s other than new MSRP GT3s and I got tired of playing that waiting list game so now "out" of that game.

Like Fined, I'd more than likely try and find another 997.2 GTS. 2nd choice would be a '98 993 Carrera S.

I'd replace it with another 997.2, but this time it would be a turbo. If the insurance check didn't cover the cost, I'd have to feign an injury to make up the difference

Love my 911, but if it was gone I think I'd take a swing at an Audi R8. I don't think they will get significantly cheaper than they are now as 6-10 year old cars and I love the gated shifter. And V10 = yummy!

Get a 997.2 base cab the Turbo was fun but tying up to much money for as little as I drive it, or sell the 06 Cayenne and get a 16 or better Cayenne GTS.
