Maybe not an option on the 997 generation but paying $$$ to have your key painted the same color as the car seems like a waste,
+1 on carbon trim

Agreed on both points

I guess I need to sell my car and get something more pure since it has Fabspeed's version of PSE, full leather, a slew of CF interior and exterior trim, PCCBs, etc and I love all of it.

Spending time in a full leather interior is much nicer than in a plastic one and a $100k car should come that way, otherwise it feels kind of cheap inside.
It's actually on my must have list when Porsche shopping

PCCBs are absolutely fabulous, and I'm not talking about braking performance (which is phenomenal), but I'm talking about dust. There isn't any, ever. Unless I drive through rain, I can get my handheld electric leaf blower, hit each wheel for a second and they're clean again. The rotors will also last the life of a street driven car and since no one else does work on my car I don't have to worry about the fragility aspect. They're so good, I'm almost done with the project of upgrading the bug red Turbo S brakes on my 957 Cayenne Turbo S to 958 PCCBs. Anyone who hasn't owned a car with them doesn't know what you're missing with the qualifier to not use them on a track car, which is ironic since that's what they were designed for, but the replacement cost is too high to make that practical.

PSE isn't necessary, but I'm sure my neighbors appreciate it when I leave for the airport at 5 AM and I don't mind having it when I see a policeman approaching from the rear who then rides next to me for a bit - no need to poke the bear, so to speak.

Love my CF interior trim too. It breaks up the sea of black leather with a complementary color and pattern. The other CF on my car actually makes it lighter, like the complete rear decklid, spoiler, and mirrors.

I also use my sunroof more than my A/C.

The stuff not needed is all the new crap, like auto start/stop, park assist, lane departure assist, distance sensing cruise control, a Wi-Fi hot spot, a button on the mirror that calls the manufacturer, etc etc etc and thank goodness none of my cars have l that crap with my newest being the 09 Cayenne and no desire to buy anything more current.

Pete - your car was the first one that came to mind when I read Bruce's post. haha but I wouldn't have your car any other way.

I never liked fuzzy dice hanging from the rear view mirror.

The sports chrono add a bunch of other things (throttle, shocks, psm setting) and not just the wart

And Pete agree with you re leather. The plastic interiors just look cheap on an expensive car

Love fuzzy dice!!

This isn't really an option, but I do not like the wider rear of the AWD models; the standard rear is wide enough. They add front wheel drive and make the rear wider...why? I would expect the rear wheel drive models need a wider rear end than the AWD drive models. I don't need leather dash, ceramic brakes, heated steering wheel, center lock wheels. The first thing I think of when I see CF trim is it's a common ricer add-on.

However, I do agree that the standard interior is quite underwhelming for a $100k car.

Part of the reason why I went with a base Carrera2. I wanted as few of options as possible... Sunroof delete would have been the cherry on top!

Ditto that--I wish there was a clock replacement for that thing. I have used it once--to see how it works, that's all.

I also have only used it to see how it worked. But Sport Chrono is not really an option because people who are buying always ask if you have Sport Chrono. Don’t ask me why. I demanded it and so will the next person.

The wart. Looks good I suppose. Much rather it be a clock.

Alcantara anywhere other than headliner.

$800 colored seatbelts.

I dunno, I kinda like the way mine keeps the humidity up by dripping onto my shifter and leather boot. I get a kinda.... jungle feel... from the dripping.

Peace
