Cold Weather Tires for 997.2 4S 2010
I am currently running on Pirelli Summer tires. With Winter around the corner, I want to switch to a more cold tolerent tire. I will not be driving in snow, maybe an occasional run to the store on minimal snpw now and then but mostly ondry or wet cold asphalt. I really don't have the need for Winter tires based on the amount of actual "snow driving" I will be doing. Preferably I would like to go with an "All-Season" tire. Finding the sizes needed; 235/35 19 & 295/30 19 is tough. I have found a Bridgestone Potenza RE970AS that should work.
Any thoughts or experiences in this area? Pros, Cons? Fitment issues? I am not planning on getting diferent wheels, they are the 19inch Turbowheels.

I have been doing some similar research. I have a pickup to drive in most winter weather, but would like to drive my 997 on cold, dry days. the RE970AS seems like a good option. the other one I have seen discussed on these forums is this one:

Tire Choices
Thanks Karl. Normally in the snow and such, my X5 does the trick with Michelin Alpin snows.
I too have seen the Toyo's you referenced and they are a bit cheaper than the Bridgestones but I have not seen many reviews on the Toyos, so I am a touch hesitant going with them. I would love some Continentals but cannot get them for the rear 295/35s.

Suckiness is relative... I have new Sottozero 18s and drove my C2S in some deep stuff for the first time last weekend. While it isn't an SUV I was super impressed with how the Sottozeros held up and I felt easily as confident as in my E class 4Matic on all seasons in the same conditions. Just remember to turn off PSM or you'll be going nowhere fast!

RE970AS is no longer made in 997 fitment for 19". There is hardly any option for 19" All Season tires anymore.
I chose to go with Toyo Proxes 4 Plus and I'm quite fine with them.
That said, for this winter, I got a dedicated set (18", Nokian tires) but haven't put them on yet (maybe after Thanksgiving).

I had been looking for gently used winter rims/tires for my recently acquired C2S, and while I found a decent amount of OEM rims in the classifieds, every time I asked about the date code on the rubber, it was crickets. The ones that I did manage to get an answer out of, the tires were always 9 or 10 years old, meaning they were well past their useful life, even with a decent amount of tread left on them.
I ended up with rims that have 5 year old Pirellis on them, and in the few snowy days I've driven in so far, I'm suitably impressed with them (coming off of a car that had Michelin Alpins for winter rubber).
To the OP, you may want to google "all weather" tires as they would seem to fit your needs based on my limited research.

I just put my Dunlop winter sports on my 2010 C4S last weekend. they are fine. I don't do any high speed driving in the winter, so it is really about getting me to the grocery store... I am in Eastern Canada and it is cold here... and often snowy (like today...).
I think they were pretty cheap too.

I’ve been unable to find anything for my rear wheels with 18’s. Found 235 for the front. Unfortunately it seems I will have to go with my 19’s with 235 fronts and 275 rear. Never imagined I would have such difficulty. Of course we received 12” last night which makes snow tires and a 997.2 a moot issue!

I use those Bridgestones on a set of 18" wheels as my winter set. I love them. They don't get hard when its below freezing and the wet traction is very good. I have no idea if they make 19" sizes
FTR, I live in central NC where we get a few weeks of below freezing temps in the winter, a couple days of snow and ice and a $hit-ton of rain between November and March.
