My 2011 C2S owners manual regarding connecting a charger; "only plug into the mains". Not sure if that includes the lighter plugs, but personally wouldn't risk it.

I too have been just using the cigarette lighter for my Porsche trickle charger, and I'm still on the original battery on my 2010 Carrera S. Still on the original cigarette lighter and charger too

Console plug with cord out under the door.
I've timed this (left my phone recording and left in the frunk) and it was consistently ten minutes before shutting the light off. Prob not that big a deal.

It works, but there are better ways to do it. I would also worry about the alligator clips making contact with the hood unless you're throwing an old towel over them that's doubled up to make sure that doesn't happen, which would be a good idea. If those clips touch the same piece of metal you'll create and arc welder until the wires melt through.

Oh, my charger is attached directly to the battery, then like six inches with a plug in, and that end just goes to a wall. No alligator clips. Good call out though.

I did as Ohio Performance did. Have the tender mounted to garage ceiling directly above plug, plugged in to where garage opener is. I suspended a hook so I can coil the charging cord and hang it up out of the way when not in use. Easy to plug in when I don’t think I will be driving for a few days.
