In the meantime, Tom our shop manager had the opportunity to drive Dora his first impression was that the engine sounds absolutely delightful and has all the characteristics of a GT3/RS. By the seat of the pants, Tom said Dora pulls harder than a factory 997.1 GT3! In comparing to a GT3, this X51 4.0L build makes noticeably more torque between 3k-4.5k RPM making it really nice for highway merging without having to downshift. The wide linear torque band is excellent for settling the chassis for in/out of corners.
Here is a sound clip of the newly added-on factory PSE control with the custom exhaust setup for Dora, which consists of X51 headers(w/ modified flanges), a fully customized version of the TPC Racing active-valved corner pipes, and OEM 997/991 GT3 center muffler.

Classic 911 rasp turned up a few notches. Love it! I will likely bump my engine to a 4.0 when I rebuilt it one of these years. Thanks for the info and inspiration.

Wow! What an amazing upgrade! How much did that cost? I'd guess at least $20K parts alone. Another $5-10K labor.
Since you're going for an R, did you consider a single mass flywheel?
