Over-rev report. Thoughts?
Hi to all? Thoughts about this report? 2017-4S with PDK. 21,000 miles. I don’t have the total operating hours but I’m guessing the hits on #1/2 are pretty recent.
Also, who do I read the “A205” Distance Calculated in control unit? Var shows 21,000 in odometer.

Even if the 1s and 2s are recent, they're extremely few in number and aren't really harmful anyway. That car has been driven gently.

Looks absolutely fine, range 1 & 2 can be ignored for the most part. Great looking car on paper.

Looks great, range 1 and 2 are below the redline so you are looking good!!

Those over-revs are not a problem at all. A summary like that indicates that the rev limiter was hit hard one or maybe two times. This is not likely from bad down-shifts. Still, I am not sure how this happens with an automatic (PDK or other).

This particular report means very little, since we don't know total operating hours.
The over revs in range one and range two are no issue.
But why is the average miles per hour less than 20? That is very very low. That means something. But what does it mean exactly?

Over revs are not the only reason to do a DME report during the used car buying process. It's also a good way to make assumptions and verify mileage.

These numbers might be low due to city driving - remember operating hours include hours sat idiling in traffic etc so this number is going to be lower than you might expect, having said that 20 mph does seem quite low :-) I'm just not sure how much there is to infer from this piece of data??

You can’t overrev a PDK car so the report is meaningless.
If the car was mostly city driven 20’ish mph average speed is believable. My DD records average speed and with a decent % of highway content it’s still never more than 24 moh.

Exactly. Dont try to start something that you may end up feeling sorry for. Checking an overrev on an automatic/pdk.
