What about an over rev report on a 80K mile 997.1 manual as follows?
Range 1 - 3800
Range 2 - 836
Range 3 - 111
Range 4 - 7
Range 5 -1
Range 6 - 0

I wouldn't worry about that one. With so few ignitions in Range 2, I'm not sure how the range 4 and 5 readings are even possible. A reading of 1 equals 1/3 of 1 crank rotation.

Very clean for a manual car with 80k miles. Agree that 5, and probably 4, are glitches. "WE NEED TO KNOW TOTAL OPERATING HOURS!!!" yes, but there's likely not much there to worry about regardless.

When trying to analyze over revs, you need to have the total operating hours AND when did the last over rev occur.
I dont know about porsche NA, but independent dealer/mechanics would consider the least risk of the last overrev occurred over the last 120 hrs.

Porsche would CPO a car even with an over rev in 1 and 2 but would not in 3/4/5.

I know because me and a dealer contacted Porsche NA when I was buying a 997.2TT MT with 5 over rev in range 3 within 20 hrs and they would not CPO the car.

That looks like one bad downshift and many times hitting the rev limiter.

Over revved is overeved . There are just 6° of overrev on a 997 Porsche. Some are OK some are borderline and some are very bad. But they are all over revs.

Thanks guys. Total operating hours is 2950. I can't remember what my Indy said to me when the last high rev was but I think he said it was over a year ago maybe 2. He said the range 5 was a split second and wasn't concerned about the others and said just enjoy the car. He and his Dad race pcars. Me posting this was really just for my own sanity, curiosity and knowledge. I am new pcar owner. Im not worried about a CPO or resale value. I'm keeping the car for awhile unless I have to sell it and in that case...it is what it is. Car runs like a dream and I plan to drive it as much as I can.

Then you have an adulterated odometer or a bogus DME report or a tampered DME or a combo of all three.

Because your average MPH is 7. That's unheard of.

You said on Wednesday the car has 21,000 miles.

21,000 miles / 2,950 op hours = 7.11 ave mph.

This car should have about 89,000 miles with 2,950 op hours. Unless it's been used as a DC powder generator for a sump pump.

80,000 / 2950 = 27.11 mph according to my math

Also, who do I read the “A205” Distance Calculated in control unit? Var shows 21,000 in odometer.
This is what I saw Wednesday. Didn't realize there was a switch in cars and poster. Sorry.
