Thanks all. Great advice! I haven’t found a 997 C4S this clean for less than $39K (low $40s is average even with this high mileage) and when I checked wholesale auction prices, $32K is the top range for similar cars. I thought it was a good deal.
That said, even the parts (complete motor rebuild kit) and machining to deal with the scored cylinder makes it a bad deal. I have the resources to remove, machine and rebuild a motor myself and love the time in garage with my son and daughters but I see now that $32K is not a good enough deal.
I am OK buying a car with small issues or even a 997 with motor issues but it has to be worth it. Know anyone with motor issues that want to sell?
I found 09 997 C2S in Dallas. Will look at it when I am there next week for business.
Thanks again for help folks.

Possible bore scoring of the cylinders. This is a possible issue on the 997.1 cars. Those with a 997.1 will chime in shortly. Not sure if you see the scoring from the top or the bottom of the cylinders.

Bore scoring on 997.1 cars almost always occurs on Bank 2 of the engine, which is the right side on cylinders 4 or 6. Because the stock cats cross over each other, the soot appears on the left side tailpipes. If you have changed your exhaust where the cats don't crossover any more, then soot on the right side could be a concern, otherwise, I wouldn't worry too much about right side soot without any other symptoms, like piston slap or ticking sounds, or oil consumption.

Was this after a test drive or when they initially started it up?
Cell phone video recordings tend to not pick up certain engine sounds compared to hearing it in person but this one is louder than normal. If you want to have a PPI done for piece mind, caveat emptor; I wouldn't.
