Question Radiator fans on full revs

I have been doing some diagnostics around my radiator fans making a hell lot of noise. Noticed that both my radiator fans are either entirely off, or are spinning at max RPM. Also found out some people with a 996 had similar problems and replacing the fan resistors solved it for them. So called a Dutch (I'm from the Netherlands) Porsche parts shop to order a couple for the 997. But, turns out. You can not just buy the resistors for the 997. It comes with the entire fan and costs 280 euro's each (~300$ each).

Quite silly for just two defect resistors. I wonder if there might be other, cheaper, solutions to this problem.

I'm far from an expert, however my basic understanding of the 997 fan control is that they are controlled by a central unit. Seems some more troubleshooting is required before shelling out for new fans

good luck

Did you check for stones stuck in the fan blades? If one fan gets stuck the other spins up to make up for it. Incredibly annoying.

Both fans are either off or max speed (at the same time). So if it were a stone in the would be unable to spin at all right? Seems more like a problem with regulating the fans.
