Thanks! Yep, the 997 is a great 911 that's for sure! So much better with the OEM wheels.
I purchased the stripe from renndecals.com it doesn't really match the wheels but
still works.

Yes OEM Lobster Forks/Claws are awesome looking wheels - Not sure why some people dislike them so much?
As I understand it, they are also some of the lightest wheels available.

So, in 2011 I bought a base 911 Cab with 39K miles, Bose, CPO and a couple more options for $39,000. From what I have seen recently, this same car with decent mileage might be selling for near or above that price 7 years later!. A few months back I bought a 2012 Carrera GTS Cab, nicely equipped, CPO for $75K. I suspect if I sell it in 2 or 2 years I may get close (or maybe more?) to my purchase price. 997's are desirable cars and the prices reflect that.

I havent seen a sizeable jump in my C4S in the almost 3 years of ownership. But ill be darned if I could replace it and ive looked every couple of months.....nothing. White/tan/manual/coupe.

FWIW, I take KBB with a grain of salt as they are owned by the dealers. So its in their best interest to keep the values low.

Lobster "fork" is my take :-) My favorite wheels on a 997. I grew up living on the ocean and this is what we used:

Outside of some 3 piece BBS silver wheels, the lobsters are my favorite. Overfinch (British Range Rover tuner) made some wheels that looked like lobsters. I like them so much I had a set on my Range Rover.

I forgot to mention that the car I bought in 2011 for roughly $40k was an '06 Manual 911 Base Cab. I bet that currrently an '06 manual with decent miles will probably fetch as much.

One of the reasons I was so happy finding my car is that Meteor Grey is one of my favorite colors and it has PSE and Adaptive Sport Seats - When I bought it it had aftermarket black wheels.
I was lucky to find a local set of OEM Wide body Lobster Forks that were completely refinished.

On KBB my launch edition 997.1S with 98,000 miles came in at just under 32k private party as of today. That's impressive. Definitely went up in value recently I remember KBB quoting 26k range a couple years ago and with much less miles.

I also checked value with the original mileage at purchase of 10,038 miles just for fun and came back just under 49k private party. Very strong.

Interesting that they have the Carrera 4 as the lowest priced model in their list.
