So I decided to check Kelly Blue Book for the current value of my car after seeing this thread, and I was pleasantly surprised by the number that came up. Not only the number itself makes me happy, but I think it’s really important that these used car value websites are keeping up with the real market price of our cars since most insurance companies base their valuation on these results. The last time I checked (approx 1 year ago) the number was about 10k too low!
By the way, I paid 52.5k for my car 3 years and 3 months ago with 20k miles less (it has 39k right now) and CPO warranty.

Is the C2S you are talking about a 997.1 or a 997.2? If it is a .1, then I completely agree with KBB on that one.
Both 997.2, perhaps I forgot to add or remove an option but think I did it right.
It also shows a $2k difference between private party and trade-in.
Not saying we haven't bottomed out and that there isn't an uptick in prices but kbb has always been a bit lacking when it comes to non mainstream vehicles.

I get these kinds of emails for all of my cars. That's an old technique of luring you into something newer. More than likely the dealership will give you the bottom of the barrel offer outright or adjust the numbers to make it look like you're getting top dollar in a trade situation. It's rare that a dealership will just buy cars back for resell unless there is huge demand. This happens with highly exclusive, low production numbered cars. It's better to sell you car outright or auction it on sites like BringATrailer. On my last sports car, most of the dealerships wouldn't give me more than $15,000 as trade allowance. Most were in the $12K range. I sold it on eBay for $20,000.

I was watching that and thought it was a crazy number unless the buyer has a spare motor already sitting in his garage. You have to figure at least $20k for a new motor so he's all in at $34k. Plenty of non-S Carreras out there with that mileage and tiptronic for less money.

Or buyer wants to build a race car - I was wondering what someone could recoupe selling Tip transmission and dead motor? I'd have to think at least $7K??
Then you sell wheels/tires, seats, interior parts not needed for racing and you get close to getting tub for dirt cheap.

Not being in the US it is good to know this info. The comparative site in Australia (Redbook) does
not seem to have changed or updated values for the 997.1.
Keep on the videos Michael. I enjoy them! You have one fantastic looking 997. Love the wheels, stripe and drop. Where did you get the stripe and where you able to match the stripe color to the wheels?
