Need help with Charging Problem
I have a 2006 Porsche Cayenne Turbo. I installed a new battery last year and have only driven the vehicle maybe 3x’s since then. I understand that the battery will drain when it sits for a long time but it is still a good battery and when I went to jump it the other day I expected the alternator to recharge the battery but it did not. Immediately after jumping the car I drove it for approximately 45 mins and after I parked and turned the car off it would not start again without another jump. Also, while driving the car power suddenly went out and stalled the car while sitting at a stop light. The power would also flicker at times while driving in the instrument cluster and the headlights at the same time. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

I follow general rules of thumb, and then automagically, these kinds of problems just don't occur.
If you are not going to drive your car much, then get a battery tender like the Ctek and keep it plugged in. Your battery is either damaged or you didn't charge it fully. 45 mnts of driving is most likely, not nearly enough to charge it.

The battery is probably toast. Most modern batteries cant survive long periods once they fall under certain volts. They consume themselves. Porsche are notoriously bad at managing electricity when sitting for a long time and do very funny things when they are not getting full juice

Also, probably better to post Cayenne issues on the Cayenne forum, rather than the 997 one, but Nancy of us have both.
Glad you're squared away. I'd recommend either the Battery Tender or CTek brand chargers.

I got the CTEK 7002 for my Ferrari, which are even more battery/charge sensitive than Porsche. It has a few extra bells and whistles than the base model. That and a new battery. Knock on wood, no issues in the past 1.5 years...T
