What are the top 10 mods?
Hello All,
i was just wondering what the top mods were. I’ve been reading and the number one seems to be exhaust mods.
And they break down from just the x pipe to a full system and of course the gundo hack.
After that it goes all over from aero to suspension.
Just curious.

I did the Billy Boat Cross Pipes and a 2" Gundo Hack. Absolutely love it!!!
Not too much louder than stock up until 2,700RPM but after that... SWEEEEET!!!

After reading this forum for a bit I started with the x pipe and ipd plenum.
And settled on the Michelin PS 4s.
So I’m curious to see what else peeps do for handling, performance and aero

Clear side lights, radiator screen guards, Fister mod, phone mount with power cradle, stainless lit door sills, door projector lights, DSC, blue tooth to aux input receiver, tow hook front license plate mount ... in that order. That's all.
Thinking ... semi solid motor mounts. That would make ten.
Not including standard maintenance, of course.

Since you are local to me I recommend adding a Fister to the X pipe, and driving up to FD Motorsports to get it. If you plan ahead, you can drive up, stay at the perfectly decent Holiday Inn, pretty much across a parking lot from FD, and get the Fister exhaust done within a couple hours. I thought it was a fun trip. I really liked Darrin. He is a cool guy, and he has a nice independent shop. I would also look into the GT3 throttle body if you are running the IPD Plenum. It seems to make sense to do those together similar to the X Pipe with the Fister. With the X pipe, the Fisters will basically be like an open PSE all the time. Pretty mellow. We can still meet up, I was just teaching summer school for the last 8 weeks and it was super draining but I would be down to show you how it sounds in Pasadena or in the area. I work 2 blocks from HOUSE. My car is a 997.1 but I am pretty sure the Fisters will sound similar because I do not have a center muffler.
I also got Eibach Prokit springs and RSS 15mm spacers all around if you want to see those. I think next, I might add upgraded swaybars and droplinks. This is kind of how I start the ball rolling down the (usually very steep) hill on suspension and handling with all my previous cars as well. Besides that, I intend to install some GT3 bits such as arms and etc. if I can.
I was also thinking of capping the little intake muffler and getting an intake pipe that does not have a Y in it. IDK what other people think but it seems like those are all the simple mods before getting more intense.
As for aero, I noticed the front feels a bit light at speed, so I want to add the AeroKit/GTS bumper/lip combo to see if that balances things out at all because the rear feels fine at speed but the front feels a bit light for my tastes but I might just need to get used to having an engine out back.
I would be interested in what other people have to say.
I love the PS4S tires. Over the years I have run a lot of tires including Sport Cups, and I really love the PS4S for all my non-track needs. I would try them on the track too when I am ready to go back.
Right now, I am at:
1. new PS4S tires.
2. BMC drop in Filter
3. FD Exhaust (if I had a 997.2 I would do the X pipe with this).
4. Eibach Pro Kit + 15mm RSS spacers all around.
In the next few months, I will probably add:
5. Drop Links + Swaybars
6. Intake muffler cap + new intake arm/hose
7. IPD Plenum + GT3 Throttle body
8. GT3 LCA + other GT3 bits that transfer over.
after that, I was thinking
9. Headers + 200 Cell Cats.
10. GTS bumper + lip.
At some point, I will probably get some upgraded wheels and proper coilovers.
(EDIT: my car did come with clear corners and the XCZ shift kit).

Porsche Sport Driving School will be the best bang for your $$$$. Learning how to control your car is the best way to get the most out of it. And clear corner lights..

My top 10 mods?
1. paddleshift steering wheel (if you have a PDK)
2. rear centre muffler delete/cross pipes
3. TPC Racing DSC module (if you have PASM)
4. upgraded brake pads, lines and fluid
5. upgraded engine mounts
6. lightweight rims and stickier tyres
7. lowering springs and a full realignment (adding negative camber)
