Am I strange?
I have an issue, and I thought I would turn to you, my fellow infected, because I knew you would be there. This is how I cope, how I survive, how I continue to fight in this high-performing life of ours. After the $hitty board meeting, the lost deal, the mandatory settlement conference... I just head to the garage and melt away. Classic rock volume 11, a strong seabreeze, a mini-project (wheel wax today), and I am home. My own brand of meditation. Am I weird?

You are not weird at all. In fact I do the same thing. I find it totally relaxing to work on the 997 with music blasting. I'm know it's lowering my BP, attitude and stress level.
Carry on and enjoy the car but don't sweat the little things and remember to drive the car. Its why we bought these things right?

I find it very therapeutic to head to the garage, put the car up in the air a bit, and start working on something (I am blessed with 3 hobby cars, so always something to do). It feels great, right up until that one stupid little nut won't come off, or that bolt strips, or that old, crumbly plastic thingy breaks, then it's off to the races - full on cursing, rising blood pressure and wifey wondering what just happened

Seems you (and I, for that matter), are more normal than most. Everyone has their vices- having a drink and cleaning your car is certainly low down on the list of potentially hazardous ones. I; however, would probably switch out the seabreeze for something like a Moscow mule.

I find detailing a tedious chore and can't imagine leaving the car at home. Mine's parked right outside my office door so all I have to do is look out the window and the stress starts to melt. And by the time I drive home it's gone.
