Default Just bought a 997.1 turbo

Hi everyone
Just bought a 2007 997.1 turbo black with 54k kms

few questions with some things I want to do, new to this forum stuff, but did a bunch of searches and didn’t really find the answers I was looking for

1) the front end has a bunch of stone chips, it’s never been painted, but it’s kind of driving me crazy.
Would it be a sin to paint the bumper/hood/fenders and then 3m clear wrap the whole front end? Feel bad repainting it.

2)front lights have some haze/fog or whatever it’s called that wouldn’t come up with detailing.
Has anyone gone with aftermarket headlights that they’re happy with?

3) led turn signals and fog lights are so beat up that I’ll likely buy new ones as well. Again, anyone buy aftermarket ones that they’re happy with?

thanks! Sorry for the long post

Also, as to Q #1. Would it affect resell drastically?

The hazing is usually on the inside of the headlight lenses and I found on my car it was improved dramatically by swishing a small amount of 99.7% pure methanol in there. There are some threads about it if you search headlights + methanol.

Repainting for stone chips = no impact on resale to majority of buyers, so long as you can assure them that it was not due to an accident.

I personally dislike wrapping cars as the clear wrap eventually fades/yellows and I have seen cases where removing it does a lot more damage than any stone chips would... Also impacts how nice the paint shines, which to me defeats the point of having nice paint in the first place.

Then again, I keep a big distance to cars in front of me whenever possible, and I still do get the odd stone... so no real winning here!

Stone chips are a sign you are enjoying your car and not worrying about things.... like stone chips..
