My first water cooled 911 - a 997 S!

I just bought this 2012 997 Carrera S in Platinum Silver last month and am really enjoying it! It's a six-speed with sport seats, sport chrono and turbo II wheels but not much else... a very sporty build, exactly how I like it. If only sunroof delete was an option for the 997! My co-worker bought this car back in 2012 when I was driving a 987 Cayman S. He takes really good care of his cars. It took quite a while to talk him out of this one, but he's got a new 991.2 on the way so this one became available for a "friend-to-friend" sale. It may be true that the best cars never hit the open market. Anyway, I got pretty lucky with this one. It only has 35k miles on it, but I'll be adding to that soon!

When I was hunting for a 997, I looked at lots of pictures of Platinum Silver, Arctic Silver and GT Silver. Platinum ALWAYS looks like it has a goldish tint to it in photos and I was kind of apprehensive about that, until I saw this car in real life. There's no gold tint in real life... it's really strange how it photographs like that. It just looks like a really nice silver in person.

The wheels are a little dirty in these pictures, but I've washed and waxed them since then. After my last air cooled adventure it feels weird to have a 911 that needs absolutely nothing. You mean all I have to do is put gas in and drive it?!?! What a concept!

Congratulations on landing a great car. Drive it every chance you get :burnout:. I'm on my 4th Porsche and the 997.2 is by far my favorite and I'm sure you will love every minute behind the wheel.

Congrats! Good looking car, and the fact that you know the vehicle history is even better. Enjoy!

Congrats fellow San Diegan. The background looks like RB. See ya at the PCA events.
