Your Other Car... Get the same maintenence attention?

Some get driven harder and in worse conditions than others, but all get pretty good care. The car that gets the best care is the 1999 Miata...the track car. ;-)

09 E82 BMW 135i n54 engine. FBO. Yes it gets the same attention as my 911. Had to replace the turbos when the original ones failed, replaced w/ RB TURBOS. Wasn’t trying to go for big HP. After the turbo swap I had to get a custom tune. Now my DD is at 450hp & 500tq to the wheels. I had to replace my HPFP and when I get the re tune it will go over 550hp & 600tq to the wheels. For such a small BMW you get a lot.
Thanks,

Unfortunately yes. My daily driver, with 232K miles, is a 2001 New Beetle Sport that I bought new. My wife always called it my wannabe 911. Built the 1.8T to a 2.0T and upped turbo to K04. Tubular lower control arms with spherical bearings, lowered 1" with Audi TT steering knuckles (to keep the roll center close to the line with CG). and TT brakes. If its currently on my car, I have had it off and replaced it at some point. And I've put the NB turbo bumpers on her. On top of that I've done all the minor and major maintenance on our 4Runner and Prius. When you teach college you have a lot of free time on your hands.

Outside of oil every 10k or so, I do maintenance every 100k on other cars or when something breaks.
So nope.

kinda car dependent. I think some of it has to do with age and problems that come up. Haven't been any issues on the 997 other than the cosmetics and exhaust ones I've upgraded so my knowledge doesn't extend much beyond that. On my M coupe, I did the valve adjustment myself and do maintenance (which I've been doing for 15 years) so know that car pretty well. On the newer cars, if something doesn't go wrong I'm not as familiar simply because I haven't had the opportunity or need to mess with them.
Summary: function of the issues and age ... not the emblem.

Yes my Jeep Wrangler with a 5” lift running on 35’s with front and rear ARB lockers regeared by myself with armor under and all around made by me is also meticulous maintained in the same way. I just know a lot more about the Jeep than my 911, at least for the time being as it will take years to gain the same amount of knowledge about my Porsche. Okay I grew up in Detroit and cars are my life.

It's got some tasteful mods like Aspec package, wheels, coilovers, header, tune, etc. I used to maintain it well, but not so much anymore. The florida sun has killed the paint, and it gets abused daily

Yes. My daily is a 2011 BMW 335is with just under 65,000 miles on it. I pamper it just like my GTS and it shows. My wife's Macan S is also well taken care of.....when I clean it up for her. She's the one who actually drives on a daily basis so it's harder to keep clean/pamper.

The 5 Porsches get the same level of care - the 01 GMC Sierra c3, not so much. It gets regular 5,000 mile oil changes and brake work when necessary, but stays outside and is the most driven vehicle in the fleet. Currently at 165,000 miles or so.

Anyway my Wrangler is my daily driver and life blood during the winter months. So it is very important that the Wrangler always been in good mechanical shape.

2011 X5? Gets bathed once a week. Spray waxed after most washes.Brakes seem to last about 18months. Oil once a year. Summer tires? The run flats were lasting a summer and a half. The DSW's are on their third summer.
Hate the dealer. Expensive and time wasters. I'll do what I can, and off to the indy for what I can't. I research my hours, and understand the job he is doing, and the hours he should be charging.
Just bought a 16' Macan to replace the X5.
The X5 will be getting some extra care, and trading it out.

My other car is my 308 GT4, and it gets the same amount of attention.
Unfortunately, I am finding that I just don't have the time to devote to properly care and drive 2 fun cars, so the 308 is now For Sale.
