exhaust clips are not great for depicting the true sound IMO. It’s not obnoxious at all, but I always like cars to be on the louder side. I don’t think 911’s should have an exhaust button, it should always be on the loud setting. Best bet is to hear it in person but either way you wouldn’t be disappointed.

Gorgeous car. Had a C4S just like it, For the exhaust, that center muffler has to go, Totally ruins the sound of the car and must weigh at least 50 lbs as well, I have Sharkwerks bypass pipes on mine and with PSE off it's no louder than stock. Push that little muffler button on the console though and you'll get a wake up call just approaching 4,000 rpm.

Was that the one that went on sale @ Stevens Creek a few weeks ago?

Yes. The muffler button only controls the PSE side cans and has nothing to do with the bypass pipes. Not sure I understand the second part of your question. You seem very concerned with excessive noise and all I can tell you is that even with the bypass pipes and the PSE valves closed it's quiet enough where I can't imagine the kind of neighbor who would complain. Most lawn mowers are louder than a 997 with bypass pipes and the PSE off.
