997.2 USB input repair
Hi All, the USB input in my 997.2 gts is broken, does anyone know if you can get to the circuitry easily using trim removal tools? I should then be able to replace the female USB input myself. I'm scared of trying to force something that shouldn't be forced and causing damage. Perhaps best left to the professionals?
Many thanks for any advice.

Naw, pretty darn easy. Honestly, it has been a few years since I pulled it up, but.... Google "enter console removal 997.2" for more... you don;'t have to remove the whole center console... that back piece all comes out by itself. Get a spudger... or trim removal pack.. they come in handy.. plastic doesn't damage plastic like a screwdriver will. First pull up the rubber mat below...remove the screws.... I can't remember but I think the connector block with the sockets (USB etc) snaps up but I don't remember ..... so be careful here... I think there is another screw under there. Some others will have to chime in... but don;t be afraid, it is not hard. Then the whole plate lifts out and you can assess the issue.

You can try a Porsche dismanlter for the whole part such as Parts Heaven. The cable goes to a connector on the back of the PCM head unit (main unit in dash center).

Three Wheelin'
Remember if you do pull the whole console and unplug the yellow plug it will throw a airbag light that will need to be reset by a durametric or other ODB reader. My Por II cleared the code just fine.
