Default 997.1 C2S Puff of Smoke 6 Sp

New to the forums and Porsche's.......I have searched for this specific scenario and haven't found anything. Pulling out today, normal pull out, the car sounded like what I would think was a misfire (single light pop I would describe it as) and a little puff of white smoke came out of the tail pipe (looked like both pipes from the rear view). The smoke immediately stopped- it just happened during the light pop event. No CEL, runs like a champ, no smoke at idle, idles smooth, pulls strong, bottom end sounds very healthy with a stethoscope. Fluke Misfire? Oil level is full. New to these cars, have extensive experience with Audi's (like rebuilding them to make them go very very fast). Car has 77K miles, the coils were replaced at 70K miles. Car has only been driven 4K miles in the past 4 years.

TIA

very common due to the boxer design, although sometimes this happens with the thin weight Mobil 0w-40 oils. Most of my occasional white smoke at startup went away with a switch to motul 5w-40. Other cause is the AOS.

Bingo. If I dont start my Testarossa for a few weeks, I expect a little puff of smoke.

How was the car driven the immediate time before the start with the smoke event? If it was let's say washed in the driveway, then started and run for just a couple minutes to be moved into the garage, then shut off, this will happen frequently with these cars for some reason. It's the only time mine ever smokes at all on startup and might have something to do with the enriched mixture when first started and that collecting somewhere, then smokes on the next restart, but that's usually a blue oil smoke, not a white smoke. Did the smoke smell like oil or coolant as coolant usually smokes white and oil blue. In any case, if it only happens from time to time and not regularly, shouldn't be anything to worry about.

It was on a normal pull out from an intersection, did 1 puff on a cycle and stopped right away.

Was the intersection at the bottom of a hill where you would have been doing some engine braking that resulted in high vacuum inside the engine as that could pull some oil down that then gets puffed out when you take off again? Any chance it was the first time you used your air conditioner in a long time where you normally drive with the ECO button activated to defeat the compressor, but that day you were running with the compressor on because it was hotter. The A/C may have built up some pressure and blown off some oily refrigerant - this actually happened to me last year. Could also just be an anomaly - keep watching and don't worry too much about it.
