Default tail lights - front section loose

Just got the car back from the shop and the tail light gap on one side was a bit odd, so I popped the trunk and adjusted.

I noticed that the forward section of the tail light was loose.

I thought at first they didn't install the tail lights back together properly so I checked both sides but they were slotted into the forward mount and the mount was tight.

what else can it be?

I don't know, that's how they attach. You get the front clip in then the rear at the decklid, though there is some adjustability at the rear to pivot the light up and down with the 2 screws to achieve the correct bumper and fender spacing. If the problem is at the front then either the mount/slot on the light has a problem or the mount on the body has a problem.

Reinstall it. They can seem to be in, but aren't (and then they come flying off in T7 at GingerMan Raceway).

Thanks guys I'm going to give it a go

Does the front slot need to be tightened or loosened during removal or install

Or is it only the rear that looks them down?

Only the rear. The front horseshoe on the light assembly just slides over the round disc on the body.
