Default My first 911 - 997.2 C4S 6MT

With much excitement, I have officially moved from long-term lurker to 911 owner! I picked up my new-to-me 2011 C4S today and couldn't be happier. I've been a long-time BMWCCA member, have owned most modern M cars at one point or another but have always lusted over the 911. I've had the itch this spring to get another fun car and had just started shopping when my friends at the local (and only) Porsche dealership here in Alaska called to say they had just taken in a primo 997.2. I knew I had to go see it when they told me it had three pedals but I wasn't prepared for how mint this thing was going to be. Fast forward to today, the car is in the garage and I still can't believe I was able to find such a nice example here locally. I had things narrowed down to a few different options before this came up but when I took my 6 yr old with me to see it (also a car guy) he said, "This one dad. Definitely this one." The PCA club here in Alaska is probably the most active club in the region so I'm excited to get involved. Alaska has a really interesting group of car enthusiasts, you'd be surprised what's hidden away in some of the garages up here.

Most importantly, on to the specs and pics. Initially I wasn't a big fan of the wheels, have always preferred the Turbo II wheels on this car but will give it some time to see if I want to change. Also wish it had the Sport Exhaust so may consider adding that in the future. Snapped a few iPhone pics in the delivery bay at the beautiful new dealership here in Anchorage, will take more with the real camera this weekend. Look forward to getting involved in the forum!

Great find, especially with only a few range 1 overrevs.

I'm with you on the Sport Design wheels - too many spikes, too dainty, and a lot of crevices to clean the brake dust from. My wife's car came with those same wheels and they weren't on it for long. Good news is some really like them as they're made by BBS for Porsche and one of the lighter OEM offerings, so shouldn't be too difficult to sell.

Wheels can totally transform the look of a car, see.... (Same car in all 3 pics) LOL

Nice buy! I have no experience with Sport Exhaust, but think highly of the Fister mufflers I recently put on. Great upgrade for reasonable money. My DIY thread is posted.

Congrats. Love the silver paint. Mine came with Sport Designs as well. Got super lucky and found a used set of Turbo II's with winter tires for $2200. A steal I think, and I love the T 2's.

Thanks. Plan right now is all 12, daily driver in the summer but will stay in the garage on the icy or big snow days in the winter.
