this round i am going H&R to get just a bit lower than eibach and avoid doing over like last time
Good move. I've had both and that extra .25" drop with the H&R's makes all the difference. Doesn't look slammed, just right on and no difference in ride quality.

H&R's ride height is perfect, the ride quality is better than stock in my opinion. Progressive spring rates are nice.

After having, and loving, H&R sport springs on at least 3 of my previous Audi's, I installed them on my 997.1.

I love them all over again.

Do you need anything else with lowering springs (other than spacers), like adjustable camber arms?

For the wheels, is the drop offered by the Eibach Pro Kit sufficient? I live in Houston and our roads aren't the smoothest so I would like to retain as much oem-like ride quality as possible... but get rid of the 4x4 look, which will just worsen with the new wheels.

If anyone can source photos of a base Carrera on 19" fuchs replicas with a Pro Kit, that would be awesome.
i bought eibach initially , then out of fear of not being low enough I bought h and R Springs and it’s perfect!! No ride quality change at all, no scraping. H and R , 100%, eibach is just now low enough

No. At least I didn't. Although camber is at max adjustment with stock arms, it's within spec.

Default eibachs

If you want a subtle drop with ride quality its the Eibach or if you want a more pronounce drop with ride quality go with H&Rs. I chose a subtle drop (Eibach) on OEM 18s and might be switching to 19s to fill up the gap on the wheel wells and use it as my daily. Here is it now on OEM 18s with 15mm all around.
