Actually... the correct setting puts the lid level slightly lower than the bumper edge for aero reasons.

In most of the photos, one side of the hood sits a little lower than the other - certainly not part of the original engineering. And that would be a matter of concern for me too. Fortunately it's common enough that it doesn't indicate some kind of previous collision damage.

Interesting observation. No problem on either of mine, though one has a RUF bumper and the other a Vorsteiner and with the smile vents makes it virtually impossible to tell. Maybe that's your solution - add the 3rd center radiator and the smile vent.

Re: the above comment I’ve had my front bumper off to clean out rad debris and there was no evidence of any damage to the bumper nor any ability to lower that part of the bumper when I reinstalled.

Correct me if I am wrong, but is not the front bumper plastic and the hood and fenders metal (or aluminum hood in the case of a Turbo)...therefore they do look a bit different than the metal on metal in a 993....
