PCA: Five reasons why a 997.2 base Carrera is the Porsche we should all be buying
#16
I can see why some people might appreciate it especially if they live in a hilly city like SF for example (although moreso in a 991 on account of lacking a proper handbrake) but it makes absolutely no sense to me why there's no provision to disable it, if not through the PCM then at least with Durametric.

A 997.2 has most of the tech of the 991 (PDK, direct-injection, LED lighting, e-diff on the 4 models, Bluetooth, active engine mounts on the Turbo, etc) while retaining all that was good about the 996/997.1.
The 997.1 simply doesn't - it's more 996 than 991. That's can be a good or bad thing depending on what one is seeking in their 911!

All these articles are written to hype the used car market up. Yes, the 997 is a good car. I myself, am in the market to get one soon.
I am just trying to figure on how to upgrade the pcm for cheap by myself or find a very good installer who won't ruin the car panels etc. I need latest GPS and Carplay is a must.
