I have a 2005 with the base model, non Bose stereo system. When I got the car 1 1/2 years ago, both door speakers sounded blown. When there is any bass in the music, they make that buzzing low tone blown speaker sound. When the car was in for inspection and emissions yesterday, the garage hooked up a loose speaker they had and it worked fine on each door. Switching back to my speakers, blown speaker sound was back. So head unit / amp are okay, the speakers are shot.

Can anyone recommend a budget price speaker that would be plug and play? Can you post a link? Thanks in advance.

I went to best buy with the size I needed and was able to buy a pair of JBLs that song great.

Not to derail the thread, but I also have non-Bose in my 2007. On FM radio, it sounds horrible. For BT streaming and CD, it sounds pretty darn good.... so I assume the speakers are fine, but maybe not? Just the lousy FM section of the PCM I assume?

I replaced all my Bose speakers with Focals. Here's the write-up. Tgey sound great and I have Focsls in my 928 too.
