Manual unlock keyblade Help?
2008 C2S
Got a VIN coded key from Porsche Dealer who also programmed Fob Everything fine except - KEYBLADE WILL NOT MANUALLY UNLOCK DRIVER DOOR. Blade goes into key socket but will not turn either way.
I had to order the key because I lost the one and only key that came with her.
Possibly something busted in the door? Programming issue? The car had to be towed during this process...
Lastly the dealer who did the service had the car their for most of its life so far and they never changed it nor did the person they sold it to who sold it to me....strange.
The thought that the car will go into hibernate after 5 days or so then I will be completely locked out doesn't sit well....
Any help appreciated.
Any ideas are appreciated...

Can't help you with the key blade problem, but if you code the car to allow holding the unlock button on the key open the windows, at least you'll be able to roll them down to manually unlock the door. I have both my '05 C2S cars coded where a long hold of the lock/unlock button when locked will roll down the windows and a long hold of the button when unlocked will roll the windows up. My cars are usually unlocked in the garage and on battery tenders, so I don't know if you lock them and then they go to sleep after 5 days if this will work since it may ignore the key fob signals until manually unlocked by the blade. If so, I guess you're going to have to get the mechanical aspect of the lock fixed. Have you tried putting some graphite powder lock lubricant into the slot and slowly working the key back and forth to see if maybe it's just bound up from lack of use? If the dealer cut you a new key, it should have the same cut path in it as the old key and then they had to program the transponder for the ignition module to recognize it or the car wouldn't start, so I don't see why it also wouldn't work in the door unless there is something mechanically wrong with either the door lock tumblers or the key is cut incorrectly, as I don't believe the groove in the key actually matters to the ignition - that's where the chip in the key communicates to allow the car to start.

Does the key lock/unlock the glovebox and also work in the ignition? If so, that should indicate that the blade was cut properly and the problem is isolated with the door lock mechanism....but I guess you already knew that. Sorry I don't have any other ideas. If you unlock the car with the key fob (alarm unarmed) it won't go into hibernate mode and not locked - it just remains unalarmed.
Yes the Key unlocks the glovebox and ignition. Do you know how to unarm the alarm? Could be a temp solution...

Have you tried the opposite? Unlock the car with the key fob and then lock it with the key? On the DIY key fob battery thread, you have to put the key into the door, lock and it an unlock to re-program it.

control within 7 days, the remote control
standby function is switched off (to prevent discharging
of the vehicle battery).
1. In this case, unlock the driver’s door with the
key at the door lock.
Leave the door closed in order to prevent the
alarm system from being triggered.
2. Press button 1 on the remote control.
The remote control is now activated again.

Is the car locked right now? If so unlock it with the remote fob. It will only go into "hibernation" if the car has been locked. Unlock your car with the remote fob, don't lock it again and it will not go into hibernation nor will the car lock itself.
