My (new to me) 2006 Carrera S
Hello, I live in Redwood City, CA and I just purchased this 997 on Sunday, 3/18/2018 and will probably be picking it up tomorrow. As this is my first newer water cooled Porsche, I joined this site believing I will have a lot to learn about the car so looks like a found an informative group here. Here are some pictures.

Hello, and thank you for the kind words on it. It has a covering/liner on the front fenders/ hood/in front of rear wheels and then used for lettering on the doors which if you look at it hard enough it almost looks like carbon fiber type pattern. I paid $36,900 for it over at Stevens Creek BMW. It had been used as a trade in. Mileage is 50K. It's an automatic trans.

Looks nice! And this Rennlist site is the best site for these water cooled models for information and DIY guides.
Do you have service records? Reason I ask - if not done already, the water pump, thermostat and likely coolant reservoir need servicing. Plugs too possibly.

Left Front Blinker problem..(any advise?)
Hello,
only 8 working LED's
all 16 working LED's
Took my car out for a ride today and when I came back and pulled in the driveway my wife noticed my yellow left front blinker leds were not all going on. Hum. There are a total of 16 yellow leds, 8 over the white led strip and 8 under the white led strip. Only the first 4 led on both top and bottom are coming on ARE NOT in sequential, just going on. It happens with the emergency flashers also.I posting 2 pictures here, the right side (passenger) with all the yellow 16 leds on and the left side (driver side) with just 8 of the 15 on.
Just found a video on YouTube on how to take the whole blinker out of bumper, so I think I'll be ready to try anything anyone recommends to me.
I will be taking the car to a dealer and then a few Porsche independent shops to get a price on 1) water pump, 2) plugs, 3) air/oil separator(?), and whatever else is required when hitting around 60K. Its only showing 50,360 miles right now.
Took it by an upper end stereo/audio place to see about having a rearview camera installed to existing PCM 2.1 and they said it would run a lot of money and suggested I look into a blue tooth camera setup.
This is a new car to me and I love it.
Thanks in advance,
Robert Faust

Three Wheelin'
Robert - car is looking sweet. Is that a new wrap on it??
Re the fogs, they are easy to remove. There should be a plastic card in the sleeve of your owners manual you slide in to pop the light out.
Those are aftermarket LEDS so not sure if one went bad. I would start with checking the connection. Hopefully others will have more experience with those LEDS and can tell you who the manufacturer is. You could contact them and ask for advice.
If you want to make the trip up to Marin there is a great shop in San Rafael called S-Car-Go. Do you know if your car have the plugs changed during the 40k service? If so you likely can skip plugs at 60 and just replace plugs and coil packs at 80k. The water pump is good preventive maintenance. I would ask them to test/inspect the AOS before replacing it. You might have another 30k miles left in it.
As for PCM, I would definitely recommend the LaPower bluetooth module to add hands free calling an streaming music to your factory PCM. You will see a thread on the topic with all the details.
FYI - Joe Ramos is organizing a drive down to Canepa in Santa Cruz next Saturday. Let us know if you want to join.

There's also a newer style available now that I just installed on my car that I think are a little nicer looking - designed like the new turbo S. They're about $350.
