Default Well. That happened

I know it’s minor in the scheme of things. Backing out of garage. Looking in rearview and stupidly catch mirror on door jamb of garage. Think they can sand that area down and blend it?? How much?? Dumb dumb dumb.

That can be fixed. Or ... Maybe it's time to wrap them in a contrasting color.

We all do stupid things. Tomorrow is a new day.

2009 C2S 123K MT

They remove it and paint the whole thing. Given they have to mix a batch of paint, how about doing your bumpers and hood? Finally fix all those rock chips. This ain't a bad thing you know.

I drive my cars and when they get good 'n dinged up, time to paint a bumper and hood. No big deal. A good shop will figure out how to get your insurance to kick a nice chunk.

Peace

Touch up paint and a war wound. It will guarantee you never hit it again. As soon as you fix it, it will happen again.

It eventually happens to all of us. Not stupid at all. Hey you picked the best place. No blending required and it should not cost much at all. You can either take to your local Porsche dealer and they probably will fix it for less than $125 or take it to a body shop, will cost a little more. Sucks when it happens, but this too shall pass.

The mirrors aren't very hard to take off, then take apart to have repainted. I did mine last year when swapping to carbon fiber mirror housings. I think I used a DIY / Instructions from MA Carbon's website since they sell the upper and lower mirror housings in CF.

I had a scratch down to plastic fixed by a mobile bumper repair guy on my wifes Jag. $250 later and I couldnt find evidence that it was resprayed.....and Im picky. Process was mask off, fill, sand, primer, pant and clear coat. Then buff the clear coat to match the rest of the bumper. 3 hours total.

I one-upped or maybe two-upped you in the dumb department. Before I had a full-sized garage door installed the two existing doors were extremely narrow. Over time, I managed to scrape both mirrors and with the driver side mirror, the mirror itself shattered. Something like $300 for the mirror glass I used touch up paint on the outside of the mirrors but it looked like I used touch-up paint. Not my finest moments...

Put a little red racing stripe there.

Don't feel bad - I backed my 964 out of the garage into my 997 - DOH !

Luckily just minor plastic scuffs. Could have been much worse.

Pete, Carbon mirrors with the black stone guards looks awesome! To the OP, get the mirror painted as soon as you can and forget about it!
