What would you change on your 997 ?
Many of us had to settle with the car in our budget or the condition we wanted rather than options and spec. So, most of us would prefer the addition or removal of something probably.
For me, I personally love my GTS and love most of its spec other than its color which is boring white. If I was to spec her, I would get a much brighter, sportier color in blue or dark red pts.
What is the thing or thing YOU would change on your 997 if you had the chance ? Color ? Options, Transmission ? Engine ?
I'm curios to see your preferences.

well of course I'd be quite pleased to find my GTS has a GT3 RS 4 liter.
but on a more realistic note, I'd sure like it to be lighter. I've done some small weight savings initiative with it, will continue here and there. But it having been around 2,900lbs from the factory would've been great.

I would get rid of the extra weight of the seat motors and window motors and electric locks, swap out the sunroof with a slick top and refit the headliner for the extra clearance. Add a little more of a gap between pedals and make the dead pedal a lower profile. Put the gear shift mechanism on an adjustable rail setup to custom place the position in direct relation to the driver's position. Increase the fuel cell size to accommodate the goal of around the 450 mile range. Reduce the use of electronics, the unnecessary ones like the automatic review mirror and I would add a light in the glove box. And to get the minimum amount of leg clearance under the steering wheel I had to add a 4" spacer, so I would like to see a stock steering column shaft with added travel say about 5".

I looked around patiently until I found exactly the car I envisioned. After 9 years with it there's nothing equipment-wise I would want to change, however I would rather have a black interior, because although I prefer sand beige, the upkeep given Porsche's poor quality materials has been a pain.

Main things are I wish I had the aero kit and PCCBs on my Turbo.
Edit: Forgot about sunroof delete. Definitely that if it were an option. (It wasn't in the US.)

If I woke up some day and would find my C2 cabrio;
- in speedyellow, with red brake calipers,
- with carrera sport wheels, and
- with a sports steering wheel and the Bose music installation (the standard speakers are a bit crap),
I definitely would not mind it
But then again, I am happy enough with my new to me P-car for the moment!

I have a distinct dislike of the looks of those bumperettes on my 997.2. Clearly Porsches design for function over form. Yes I could understand the logic of protecting the engine if I ever get rear ended. I'm addressing it. Either get it off and plaster fill the void and re-paint it, or get a Euro bumper to replace it.

I would magically transform my PDK into a true 6MT.
I love my 997.2 C4S and the PDK transmission is much more engaging than I thought it would be, but I do miss rowing through the gears. I searched and searched for a 6MT that met my criteria and when I found one that ticked most of the boxes, the only thing it was missing was a manual transmission. So, I decided to take a risk and get a PDK, and while it is very enjoyable for what it is, I do wish it had a true stick shift transmission.

Yes, the 997.2 with manual transmission and hydraulic power steering to me is the last of the driver's car.

1) Additional articulation and distance on steering wheel.
2) Get rid of the entire headlight washer system (looks like Porsche started doing this on some 991.2s and the 992)
3) FRONT CAMBER ADJUSTMENT (besides the top mounts, why they excluded this is beyond me)
4) I wish the door closing sounded less 'thumpy' and more mechanical like the 993. Too much low freq osc.
5) XM antenna integrated into the body somehow instead of a neck wart.
6) Horn honk when locked
The rest is take it or leave it.
