Default Airbag light after swapping seatbelts?

Swapped in a set of red seatbelts in my 2008 tt. Disconnected the battery for the procedure.

Now I have a red airbag dash light, but no accompanying message on the computer.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I would check the electrical connections at the seatbelts again. They have pretensioners in them which is how they're tied to the airbag / supplemental restraint system. Once you find the electrical issue, you'll need a Durametric or PIWIS to clear the airbag warning - a regular OBD2 scanner won't do it, I don't think.

I found recently that when I pulled apart my center console that I also had the same exact problem with the air bag light. No measage, but it would not go away. I bought a iCardoft POR II scanner and it cleared the airbag code. I read somewhere when certain plugs are unplugged it throw the air bag light and then it must be reset.
