Default Steering wheel replacement

Hi. Quick question , I have 2010 c2s PDK. My wheel is non heat non multifunctional pushbutton . I wanted to swap for heated pushbutton multifunction wheel. The dealer says not sure if its possible something bout VIN may not allow to program it. Does it sound like b.s.? Thanks

I added multifunction buttons to my .1. Not sure if the .2 is more restrictive.

Slightly OT, but how about swapping in a wheel (991?) that has Sport Chrono buttons on the wheel, paddles preferred?

So the dealer says cannot be retrofited at all. Another Indy guy says it can . I don't know exactly who is right. I want the multifunction but don't want to buy it and then not able to use it

Yes you can do it. I did it. Swapped out the original
wheel to a multifunction wheel with heat. Bought a wood/leather wheel kit from Suncoast Porsche Parts in Florida. Comes with shift **** and brake handle for about $1500. I had Porsche of Monmouth install it and program it. No Problem.

Upgrade to heated steering wheel need replace clock spring with heating supported version,’heating steering wheel enable code’ and ‘Multifunction enable code’ needed also for 991.1.
Active multifunction and heating need program vehicle following this guide https://gpsadapter.us/blogs/installa...n-coding-guide

I have 2012 997 GTS, PDK with paddles, no heat. Can anyone give me the p/n for the 991 wheel that has the Sport Chrono on the wheel, no heat?

Woops!! Buttons only. Deal breaker. Gotta have my paddles. Thanks

ed: I was wrong. The p/n provided is with paddles but at $1016 I'm not sure it's worth it to me. Most of the time, I'm in Sport. I think my wife gets more nervous about me looking down to switch it on/off.

I'm not a fan of the multi-functional wheel either. I find myself changing the station or volume on accident all the time.
