Finally joined the club!
Well, after an iteration that was heading to a 991 that didn't work out, then an absolutely gorgeous 996 that didn't work out, I happened upon this 2011 C2S Cabrio at a non-Porsche car dealer just down the street from my house. It has been a weird search for a car, that wound up literally a mile away from home. I happened to run an autotrader search a couple of hours after the 996 didn't work out and this one popped up around the corner - didn't even have photos yet. This car dealer was actually really easy to work with. They even put the car up on a lift so I could look it over. Basalt Black Metallic, black leather interior, Carrera S, PDK,ext- nav, Chrono Plus. All the books, some of the service stamps, even had brand new rubber all the way around and it looks like new brake pads. Even had the original window sticker. Heck, there's a full bottle of Mobil 1 hidden in the trunk panel thing.
Went through the car and found the original buyer's temporary registration - and I know who it was. LOL. It's been through a couple of owners since then, but I still found his data in the PCM. Maybe I should have driven by his house and checked if the garage door opener still works... I was good though and deleted all the old data from the last two owners.
So far, so good. Few little nicks and stuff you'd expect on a 52K mile car, but it is all honest use. Drives good so far. Needs fresh Nav data as I was driving all over roads that it didn't even know were there.
My new ride!

Sounds and looks like you found a great example of the best modern 911 generation - the 997. Glad the first 2 didn't work out for you, and you will be too.
