Default Buying opinion 2006 997 base c2. 70000 milesh

I found a 2006 997 base c2 with 70000 miles. Super clean. Not freshly detailed clean but I mean very clean clean like a car that has been taken care of. There are some maintenance records. At 35000 miles, according to Porsche dealer invoice the the RMS/IMS seal was changed along with a number of other items. Exhaust seal, cam o rings etc.

So, here are my questions:

1. is mileage too high?

2. I show no records for water pump change or clutch. Any giveaways that this has been done? Last oil receipt was done at 60000 miles.

3. Last owner didn’t provide any records. His phone number is no longer his. Last owner 4th bought car at Porsche dealer. Car is now at a 3rd rate luxury car dealership. This concerns me.

4. Car does not have PASM.

I am in canada with very limited inventory. This car is super clean. Looks like whoever owned it, at least cosmetically took really great care of it. 3m on nose and mirrors etc. Engine has never been cleaned but is only dusty. No finger marks which would indicate recent work. Looks like an honest car.

Arctic silver, black leather interior. Absolutely no blemishes.

I don’t like the dealer and don’t like the lack of service history.

would you consider this with a ppi? What should ppi include?

Miles are fine, but I'd overpay all day (and did) for a car with a full maintenance history. And by maintenance history, I'm talking per Porsche recommendations, not necessarily all the stuff recommended on the interwebz. Add to it a clean PPI and carfax and you can buy confidently.

Here’s the car

biggest concern for for me is status of clutch. Considering at 35000 miles rms was changed but invoice showed no clutch change. I have not test driven car yet as the weather inToronto is not conducive to a test drive.

Will you be getting a PPI?

I used to have a non-PASM C2 and the ride height bugged the hell out of me.

At 70 tmiles you will be doing the clutch soon. The dealer will for sure not have done it. Also remember it is a self adjusting clutch so a worn clutch is not so easily detected.

It sounds like the 4th owner drove the car for a while without getting any major services done and then dumped it off.

Looks to me like the dealer may have had the car cleaned up in order to instill confidence which in your case worked jst fine...

You can fix the non-pasm height with eibach springs. I wouldn't buy a car with lack of maintenance tough. There is nothing more expensive then a cheap porsche.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the base carrera doesn't have the self-adjusting clutch. I thought only the S had it.
